Luxury Travel Vacations During High Seasons

You probably know people who have booked luxury vacations to places like Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean at bargain prices. So how do they do it? They don’t travel during high season. You can save more than $1500 by not traveling during the summer, spring break season or Christmas. Unfortunately, there are a lot of travelers who are forced to travel in this season because it is the only time they can get off of work, school or other important commitments. Here are a few tips to keep you from losing your money…or your mind!

Avoid Traveling In June, July and August

Not surprisingly, these three months are the top travel months for luxury vacations. The kids are out of school, the weather is great and your work is giving you some needed R & R. But most countries in the world have vacation and school breaks during this time, so people all over the world want to get away. Airlines and hotels know this and charge outrageous prices for their seats and rooms. It is especially expensive in Europe, as Europeans have great weather and school breaks, and are willing to pay a premium to stay where they want. If there is any way for you to travel at a different time, do so. Putting your vacation off until September and October can easily save you thousands of dollars. Even May and April are cheaper than June and July.

Don’t Travel Internationally

If you can only take your luxury travel vacation during high season, stay closer to home. There are probably more luxury deals available to travelers who maybe choose Las Vegas instead of the Dominican Republic, and Miami instead of Mexico. Your domestic flights will be hundreds of dollars cheaper than if you were to fly to other countries. Plus, hotels, cruise lines and travel agents have a number of local deals available to people interested in traveling within the states. From Hawaii to Alaska, there are a lot of exotic and adventurous things to see and experience here in the good old USA.

Budget Accordingly

If you are traveling in high season, don’t expect to pay low season prices on luxury vacations. The prices you will find might be the highest you have ever seen because you had previously considered traveling during low season. Be ready to pay up to $1,500 per person for international air in coach class. Expect three star resorts and hotels in tourist areas to charge five star prices, and luxury hotels and resorts to go through the roof. One good suggestion is to book early to try to take advantage of early booking discounts.

Even luxury world cruises that begin in peak season are more expensive and more difficult to find availability. If you want to travel in high season, the key is to be flexible. Consider different dates, different destinations and different costs. Visit http://www.amtcruises.com for more luxury travel cruise informations. Book early and take advantage of early booking incentives. With these suggestions, you can get the best prices available for high season travel.

How To Improve Your Group Travel Experience

I took my first group tour this summer. That was a learning experience. Don’t get me wrong. I had lots of fun, but for someone who has always traveled alone, I had some “learning” to do.

First things first! Getting to know my co-travellers! This was easy and fun, cause our group leader organized several get-togethers way in advance, so we could get to know each other, and get all or questions answered. And there were many questions, like, where would we stay, where can we buy travel insurance, what should we bring, what will immigration and customs documents will be need! And more.

Then roommates had to be assigned, because it would be cheaper to share a room than to have your own room. So unless you were a family , you got a roommate. I got two roommates, and we really hit it off. One roommate was a die hard shopper, and the other was an eternal organizer. So between the three of us, we had a ball.

But I did have to learn to be patient. Our group was very diverse. We had kids, teenagers, and some older persons. So things did not always move as quickly ( or as efficiently) as when I travel alone. We usually had to wait and make sure that everyone was accounted for before our tour bus could leave for the next stop. Hotel check-ins did not always go smoothly, but once we got settled the rooms were comfortable.

The key to enjoying group travel is to be patient and to be considerate. Be flexible and tolerant in order to accommodate others in the group, and do your best to stick to the itinerary schedule. Don’t show up at 7:30 when the Bus was scheduled to leave at 7AM. Take your sense of humor with you, and you will definitely have a good time.

Group travel is an excellent way to make new friends and to foster old friendships. If you want to spend quality time with your friends, family members, or business colleagues and enjoy a wonderful vacation experience at the same time, then I highly recommend a group travel tour!

Bringing Along Your Cellular Phone While Traveling

We all agree that the invention of the cellular phone has made our lives so much easier. It has afforded us the convenience of being able to communicate with others while we are mobile. The cellular phone enables us to make and receive important calls, send and receive text messages and some models even allow us to check our emails and store important documents functioning more like a personal digital assistant. It is no wonder that majority of the people nowadays have their very own cellular phones and they even bring it along with them on their travels be it locally or internationally.

If you will be traveling abroad with your cellular phone in tow, you need to let your mobile phone operator enable your phone for international roaming. This process may vary among different operators but it usually takes only a short while and usually after 24 hours your international roaming service will already be activated. When you will be availing of this service, make certain that you clearly ask your operator how much you will be charged for call and text services. Be in the know if you will be charged for calls and messages that you will be receiving when you are out of the country because certain operators even charge you for this. So despite the fact that you may not have used your phone for calls or texts, you may have been receiving calls or messages that may shock you upon receiving your bill.

It would be best for you to buy a local sim card in your country of destination if you will be staying there for quite some time. This would enable you to save more because call charges under international roaming services could be costly. Though some operators actually lock your cellular phones to their network making you unable to use the sim card, you can find many local retailers who could unlock your cellular phone. Just be careful though because certain operators would forfeit the warranty of your cellular phone if you have it unlocked.

When traveling always have a copy of your cellular phone number and serial or IMEI number for you can never predict if untoward incidents may happen. In case you will be a victim of theft, immediately report to your operator your mobile number and IMEI number to have them disable your phone. Report it then to the local police authorities.

When traveling with your mobile phone always keep it safe and avoid showing it off.

Now for the math lesson

A 1 GB mp3 player has one gigabyte of storage which is equal to 1024 megabytes-abbreviated MB. One megabyte is equal to 1,048,576 bytes and a byte is equal to eight bits. Bit is a combination of two words: binary and digit. A bit is defined as the smallest unit of information in a media storage device and is represented as a 0 or 1. Are you confused yet? Remember 'The Matrix'?

The characters could read that code of zeros and ones at a glance and form a picture in their minds. That is essentially what a computer or mp3 player does and then passes that "picture" on to you in the form of your favorite song or audio book.

Choosing a byte

Choosing how many megabytes or gigabytes you will need in an mp3 player depends on what you are going to store and how much. An mp3 player can be used to store audio books for listening on the go. Audio book lovers may require a higher level of storage. The most popular use of mp3 players is listening to music.

Choosing a storage size for music files depends mainly on how many songs you want to store on your mp3 player. A 1 GB mp3 player is a good choice for anyone who is unsure about how much storage will be necessary. Most 1GB mp3 players hold about 240 songs at an average song length of four minutes.

A 1GB mp3 player may cost $80 to $180, depending on the brand and features desired. A review of available brands is easily found online to help you choose. If you prefer the good old fashioned, face to face shopping approach, most sales persons in your local electronics store can answer any lingering questions you might have.

While mp3 players are available with storage sizes of mere megabytes to 60GB and above, the 1GB mp3 player is a good starting point for the music enthusiast.
